Tiki-Ko is a vibrant tiki bar located in downtown Bakersfield, California, offering a unique blend of classic tiki ambiance and modern flair. Established in June 2016 by Roy Scarazzo and Sonya Gamargo, the bar was inspired by their experience at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar in Disneyland. The interior, designed by Danny “Tiki Diablo” Gallardo, features vintage Witco pieces, beachcomber lamps, turquoise blue upholstery, and artwork by Tiki tOny .
In June 2021, Tiki-Ko expanded to include The Sinking Ship Room, a nautical-themed basement bar located at 1927 K Street. This space, designed by Tiki Diablo and Jorge “Spongie” Reyes, is adorned with antique and vintage nautical artifacts, authentic Papua New Guinea masks and totems, and features a ceiling map of the Caribbean .
Tiki-Ko offers unique experiences such as the Explorers Club on Tuesdays, where patrons can try four handcrafted, one-of-a-kind cocktails each month, earning rewards and a limited-edition Tiki-Ko Explorers Club tee upon completing all 12 menus. On Wednesdays, Mug Club nights invite guests to bring their favorite tiki mugs for drink discounts and camaraderie with fellow enthusiasts .
